Topic: Priest Application - (accepted)

Character Name: Acrönym
Class: Priest
Armory Link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet … cn=Acrönym
Country: Spain, living in Sweden
Age: 21

   1) My name is Ivan, I currently live in Sweden for the last 4 months and I'm gonna stay here as well. I'm a very competitive player and I've been like that in every game I played before always reaching the highest level possible.

- In WarCraft 3 I've been Top 1 EU in 3v3 Arranged Team, Top 7 in Random Team, Top 2 in 4v4 Arranged Team and Top 9 in 2v2 Arranged Team.

- In World of WarCraft I never put that many efforts cause most of the times the amount of hours you expend the more profit you get, so it doesn't prove the skill that much, even tho I had some good progress and always good work on everything I did without playing 24/7 and I always felt that I was totally over the average level on every guild I've been through.

- Last months I've been playing League of Legends, and, with my team, we were 2nd EU in the first official tournament with 256 teams. Being myself one of the Top European players. With the launch of the Season 1, many players quit the game the same way I did, since they totally screwed the matchmaking system, matching top players with the worst players in EU, making the games pretty much random and a lottery to win, no matter how hard you carry your team.

   2) Tell us about your previous guild(s). Why are you looking for a new home?

In TBC I started in a friendly guild, not top at all in my server, and we started getting a pretty good raiding attitude that without anyone expecting for it, we killed Lady Vashj pre nerf. About 2 weeks after this due to university examinations and that kind of stuff, many members became inactive during a few days, so our beloved GM decided to disband the guild in an act of pure rage and steal all the guildbank.

After this I jumped into ExecutuS, one of the top guilds in C'Thun in that moment, but due to the lack of motivation after the guild disband, many friends left the game and so did I.

In WOTLK I came back when Naxx was already farmed. I was trying different guilds and meeting new people to get ready to the new content. When Ulduar came I was in another friendly guild, nothing too serious, but it was fun, and that's all about in a game, having fun. Somehow the guild disbanded and I went for something bigger.

Is that when I transfer my little priest to Dun Modr, joining Insomnio, the top Alliance spanish guild. Just after 2 or 3 days in the guild, we managed to do the first Alliance spanish kill of Mimiron HM25man, 2nd spanish after Dark Requiem if I remember well. I was feeling pretty confident and I totally look that I fit well over there, good players, not so long raids (2:30 - 3:00h) and being probably the most outgeared player in the guild I always managed to do good in the recount damage.
After taking some holidays (it was summer) the guild master sent an email to me complaining that I wasn't suppose to be on holidays since I joined the guild as a summer reinforcement and it finished with me being out of the guild for obviously don't reply (I was as I said on holidays). The fun part was, that I left a message in the forum to let everyone know I was going to be away.

With the bad luck on my chest, I came back to my old server and made my own 10man HM raid with some friends and forget about guilds for a while. We sure did managed so well, even tho my friends weren't exceptional players and we sure had so much fun. After achieving this I quit the game and started playing Aion for a while. Then it was when I rerolled to League of Legends, and now a days here I'm again, with needs or more.

   3) How long have you been playing WoW?

I started playing WoW in the Classic WoW, with a Warrior Fury, nothing serious, didn't even leveled up to 60. Didn't feel the good parts of the game.

I came back when TBC was released and I quit the game exactly when Sunwell came. Finally when WOTLK was released, about 2 months after I came back to business and loving the hard modes. it was a pity I didn't have any guild to fit into my server and had to transfer to another and it didn't go well so I was pretty upset about it. I came back 2 days ago and now I feel this is my time.

   4) How long have you been playing the character you applied with?

Since TBC was the first character I leveled up to maximum level. Played it in every single build, but I pretty much enjoy the Shadow, since I think I totally get more than 100% from it. I love the fact that the SP is a pretty hard dps character to keep a really nice damage always up and is tons of fun, not just to spam 1 key. Even tho I find myself a pretty ubber healer!

   5) How long do you intend to keep on playing (this character)? Do you want to keep playing this spec? If not, what do you want to play? Are you proficient in a second spec?

I would like to play until the new expansion set comes, and when it does I hope for that time I would be pretty much a new member of the family so it will feel so good to work together on trying realm first and so on. About the specs I don't care at all what to play. I think I really give more than 100% in both specs, but it is true that is harder to find good Shadow Priest, more than healers. So it's up to you. I can even play dual spec PVE and sacrifice my PVP spec for the guild progress.

   6) Tell us about your typical "spell rotation". Do you have a WWS of a recent raid?

No I don't have any since I don't play WoW for 1 year, I remember tho, that always being one of the worst geared characters in the guild I was always the top dps caster in almost every guild and pretty much around top 5 in general so I guess I did good.

About the rotation I didn't even play yet with my priest now, as far as I remember VT > MB > MF > MF (to get 5 stacks) then SW:P > DP. Keeping always up the dots, casting MB when is needed, casting MF1 or MF3 depending the situation, since sometimes is good to let it tick 3 times, and other times, if you are about to have MB, is better to let it tick just 1.

   7) What are your goals in WoW?

To fit in a friendly guild and enjoy the progress together. Nothing more, nothing else. Do our best, and try hard for realm first.

   8) Where do you find your fun in the game, do you have a "hobby" ingame?

Hard modes, totally, specially achieving the Glory's. I also like to do some sort of stuff such as farming mounts in my free time and things like that.

   9) Please upload a screenshot of your combat UI

I don't have any raid addons up yet anyhow I found an old pictures of the first or second week in Ulduar, I remember I had such a crap gear with healer items and even epics from heroics.

http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/62/recount.png

I have to use the classic UI cause in 25man raid it delays my computer so much, so I try to be cheap on addons. Also the keybindings are not exactly like that, I use to bind every single key.

  10) What are your raiding experiences, also Pre-TBC and TBC?

- Pre-TBC nothing at all as I explaining before.
- TBC Full BT
- WOTK Full Ulduar 25 HM ToC 25 (non HM)

  11) Do you have any notable alts?

I have a good Death Knight but still in my old server. I had such a good gear from Ulduar 10 man HM's. If its needed I could bring her here as well.

  12) What do you expect of your new guild?

Good PVE progress, fun, friendship and whatever they are up to!

  13) What do you think your attendance will be if we offer you a raiding spot in Phalanx? Do you have any personal obligations which would interfere with our raid times?

I can be every day the whole raid period. Of course as persons we are, somedays everyone could have some IRL problem and won't be able to attend the raid. I guess that's reasonable. Otherwise I would have 100% attendance, that's a fact.

  14) What do you know about Phalanx, and why do you want to join exactly our guild?

I came to this server a little bit randomly, asking which server shall I move to. Kor'gall seems pretty balance between Alliance / Horde, and have a really OK PVE progress overall so I came here. After checkin in WoW Progress, I took a look into Loot FTW and Phalanx, and Phalanx will fit so much better for me, since you still have a good progress even tho you don't expend as many hours as Loot FTW does, that is not for me.

  15) What kind of computer and connection do you have?

MacBook 13" 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB DDR3
10 Mbit Telia

  16) Is there someone in our guild who could support your application?

No, unfortunately there is no one I know.

  17) Tell us a joke!

Chuck Norris tears cures cancer. It's a real pity he never cried.

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

Just an update about the armory, the gear is pretty random since I didn't decide If I'm going to Shadow or Holy, and I had almost just Shadow gear, but last days I've played been getting some Holy.

Before you say something about the gear, notice that I can craft what ever it's needed and do everything in my hands to get some gear before you guys accept my application. I'm not here for the gear. Thank you and hope myself good luck.

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

Hello mate,

First of all thanks for taking the time to write a nice and long application with alot of information in it. I Needed a break anyway from playing SC2 so it was a nice reading smile Now where to start?

The first part of your application made me think of an old Helloween song called Mr. Ego....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DF3RIoSuGY for the absolute non-educated metalheads out there smile

Talking about your skills is one thing, mentioning your uber half of the application makes me erm... realise you should be applying for LFTW actually even while you mentioned you rather joined Phalanx. Furthermore it's nice to see you accomplish alot on GAMES, topping them and then burning out to quit them 1 by 1.

When we ask you about your rotation, you state you haven´t even play your priest yet but it might be the same like old days. You should have read up on your class. Not playing for 1 year and then just applying to a guild without any research is plain stupid and again shows the lack of commitment.

I am pretty sure MB is even dropped from rotation when a Shadowpriest is in tier 10, but you have to ask Demmian about that. He is our stable and kickass SP atm.

Your armory link still isn't working so there is no way to check some of the things you stated in your application. There are alot (and I mean alot) more question marks about your application, but i'll wait for the link to get working.

Love,

-Bina

ps. love the joke smile

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

I'm sorry if you misunderstood the ubber comment, I don't have such an ego since I didn't mean in that way. About my achievements in other games, that's something I think is good to mention everywhere I go so I can prove myself that I'm not a casual gamer.

About the new rotation or whatever, is not something that I'm worry about, and you shouldn't either. I promise to be 100% if you give me the chance to prove myself. That's my job and duty to know and not yours with all due respect. So please, don't worry about such a things.

And once again, about the "ego" comments, this is an application, and I have to show all my good stuff to some random guys that don't know me, so I don't see any problem with it. Anyhow my apologies if it didn't sound good.

About the armory, I'm sorry I can't help it, but in the meantime to start proving myself, here you have a screen from Insomnio when we did the Mimiron First Spanish Alliance:

http://www.raid-insomnio.com/images/pro … 5_Hard.jpg

You can check the rest when the armory is working. Apologies.

Thank you

Well tbh I DO have to worry about these things, because a SKILLED player knows something about all classes in respect to rotations, buffs, positioning etc. That's what makes you different from casual players, that's what makes you a good & dedicated player. This remark alone kills your application for me mate sorry sad

Have a nice day.

Acronym, your name seems a bit long. Can we shorten it a bit?

Will get you a reply to you as soon as we can. Hopefully before Sunday.

Acronym should be abbreviated, nau!

acronym (plural acronyms)

   1. An abbreviation formed by (usually initial) letters taken from a word or series of words, and which is itself pronounced as a word, such as RAM, radar, or scuba; sometimes contrasted with initialism.
   2. A pronounceable word formed from the beginnings (letter or syllable) of other words and thus representing the phrase so formed, e.g. Benelux = the countries Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg considered as a political or economic whole.
   3. Any abbreviation so formed, regardless of pronunciation, such as TNT, IBM, or XML.

But anyway, more on track about your application, besides the slightly OTT boasting, it's a really good application, but I'm sure you know that already. In that respect, I think you can overlook the gear which initially looks as if you just dinged recently.

How do you feel about healing btw?

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

Most of my Shadow gear is based on Ulduar 10 HM, Ulduar25man, and some ToC. About Healing gear, I'm pretty much low of it, and I'm ok with it if you need healers. I'm gonna start grabbing some new badges and getting new gear, I just need to know if it should be shadow or healer.

Thank you smile

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

Like Infiltrate posted gear isn't a big issue with all the easy clearing atm (*cough*)

I do hope though you don't feel yourself pushed into a spec you don't wanna play or don't favor over the other and in the end start hating it. I know Shadow rocks and Discipline bores :-)

Although I used harsh words earlier and the fact you didn't get Flanks pun I do like the fact you're patient and overall staying friendly (me jealous!)

Re: Priest Application - (accepted)

I realised about what Flanks said after I posted it hahaha. I'm so used to Acronym as my nickname that I don't even think about the meaning.

About the spec, I like both healing and shadow, but I like it as Holy, I don't think I'll like to be Disci, sounds so boring.
Cheers!

Gets my vote, it isnt about the gear at this stage its about preparing for cata and this guy would fit right in imho. Cant be worse than some of the fails we have/had.

Thanks for the support I really appreciate smile

About DotA Brooklyn of course I did, thats the reason I started playing League of Legends when it was released but I never played DotA in the highest level, just semi high on the Garena Ladders, managed to be top 5 for 1 season, top 1 spain but nothing too serious I had like 80-4 that season if I remember well.

See ya smile

PS: I think I would rather being Holy than Shadow at the moment, but if it can't be I'm ok with it.

Hi Acronym

I would say we are likely to be trialling you. I say 90% chance, can't confirm 100% as the 3rd person in our committee decided to be AWOL today!

I would ask you to be online tomorrow at our raid time (around 19.30) and it is likely you will be invited.
